About this run
CHECK IN BEGINS AT 9:00 AM Empowering Communities and Fortifying Families to End Veteran Suicide and Strengthen our Heroes to Lead their Communities. HONOR HEROES - FORTIFY FAMILIES - CELEBRATE FREEDOM Walk in support of veterans to choose LIFE. The enemy did not have victory in war, and will not win in the day to day battle for our veteran’s lives. Together we can end veteran suicide and fortify families after service. Live life abundantly with a community that hears, sees and recognizes the sacrifices of our HEROES. Family and supporters of our veterans are encouraged to join. Let’s gather in a big way to show the love and support of our veterans and the USA. The circle of return from military service to civilian life is a personal and community process. Join a community wide celebration and resources fair as we help veterans and families make the journey back home after service. Schedule: 9 AM Registration Opens and Community Resource Fair 10 AM Opening Ceremonies 11:00 AM Walk Commences on paths through Riverfront Park. Those walking with kids are welcome to bring scooters, wagons, bikes or strollers to make your time easier with little ones. 12 PM Victory Celebration and Closing Ceremony 1 PM Resource Fair Closes Heroes Walk brings awareness, solutions, and builds a connected community to end veteran suicide and homelessness by providing resources for wrap around care for the whole veteran and their family or support system. The content and event day will be mindful of the multigenerational crowd. Organizations desiring to join the resource community fair or sponsor the event, please email info@heroeshomestead.org. Services for adults, children, veterans and spouses (including Gold Star families), as well as basic life needs and life enhancement and more are welcome to join.
