About this run
Haley's Heroes Foundation presents the 8th Annual RUN/Walk FOR THE RARE, a 10k, 5k, and 1-mile run/walk to support International Batten Disease Awareness Day. Did you know that Rare is everywhere? Join us as we run on Sunday, June 6, 2027. 1 in 10 people have a rare disease, and 50% of those are children. There are more than 7,000 known rare diseases, and an estimated 350 million people globally are diagnosed with a rare disease. YET, 95% of all rare diseases don't have an FDA-approved treatment or cure. Let's run (or walk) to change the course of the lives of all those with rare diseases. Post pictures at #RUNWALKFORTHERARE! The race will start and finish outside of the Pavilion in the North Meadow. The starting time is 10 am, and all participants should be finished by 12 pm. Cost is $45 for adults and $35 for children. Registration fee includes: a food coupon and ice-cream coupon, a photo booth, and a t-shirt June 05 - Early packet pick-up is 2 pm-4 pm at Gallagher's Fitness | 135 Commercial St NE, Salem, OR 97301 June 06 - Packet pick up begins at 9 am at the run Can't attend?
