About this run
The Fiesta Walk/Run offers a special event for the youngest participants: the 1/8 mile (0.2 km) race for boys and girls aged 5 and under. This short, fun race is designed to introduce very young children to the excitement of a running event in a low-pressure, accessible format. It's a great opportunity for families to participate together and celebrate community spirit.
The event is organized by the City of Reedley Community Services Department and the Reedley Parkway Committee. Proceeds from the event will support improvements and amenities for the Reedley Parkway, such as new picnic tables, signage, artwork, and kiosk upgrades. Funds will also help provide equipment and supplies for volunteers dedicated to maintaining the parkway.
This specific race is held in memory of Mr. Rusty DeRuiter, a former teacher. In his honor, the event partners with the Kings Canyon Unified School District to encourage student involvement.
