About this run
The Fiesta Walk/Run offers a very short, quarter-mile race specifically for boys aged 6-7. This event is part of a larger community fundraiser organized by the City of Reedley Community Services Department and the Reedley Parkway Committee. The funds raised will support improvements and amenities for the Reedley Parkway, such as picnic tables, signage, and artwork, as well as equipment for volunteers who maintain the parkway.
This particular race is held in memory of Mr. Rusty DeRuiter, a former teacher. The organizers have partnered with the Kings Canyon Unified School District to involve students in the event. While other races at the Fiesta Walk/Run include a timed 6-mile run, a 2-mile fun run/walk, and a 6-mile fun walk, this quarter-mile event is designed as a fun, short participation opportunity for young boys.
