About this run
The 6th Annual Women in STEM Walkathon is a month-long virtual event designed to educate, elevate, and empower women in STEM, particularly those connected to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Participants can walk or run anywhere they choose, individually or with a team, accumulating as many miles as possible throughout October. This initiative aims to increase representation in STEM fields, where women are currently underrepresented.
The event supports scholarships and career resources for Black women pursuing STEM education. Funds raised are matched by sponsors based on accumulated miles, and participants receive a thank you token. The walkathon welcomes everyone passionate about education and supporting the next generation of women STEM professionals.
