About this run
The Little Village Rotary Club presents the 6th Annual Carrera por paz, or Race for Peace, a community 5K Run/Walk Event. This event's objective is to promote anti-violence by supporting youth programs in Chicago’s Little Village and surrounding communities. Proceeds of this race will be invested into the community in the form of renewable grants, youth development, and job training. Race for Peace will have both competitive and non-competitive 5K in-person events. Only the competitive 5K in-person event will qualify runners for the cash prizes. All of the 5K in-person events will qualify runners for the age group and gender awards. • All registered runners will receive a finisher medallion and Race Day event t-shirt. • Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three runners, both men and women categories. • The race is chip-timed on a certified 5K course (IL21011NM).
